The research was conducted to compare the different of performance of Bank and Insurance Institutions listed at JSE in 2000. Financial research is Economic Rent ability, Net Profit Margin, Deb Ratio, Capital Structure, Earning Per Share, and Equity Per Share. The sampling technique adopted is purposive sampling, taken 10 samples each of financial institutions.
Based on financial rations and statistically hypothesis test of t ? test with two tail on significant level at 95 % proved that Net Profit Margin, Debt Ratio, Capital Structure, and Earning Per Share of bank was better than the insurance institutions, but Economic Rent ability, and Equity Per Share were worse than other one.
